Another pretty good weekend up here at UT. Friday night: I did nothing. I did nothing and it was great. I've been so exhausted the past week so Friday night was just what I needed. At about 11:30 I put in "The Punisher" (which is one of the best movies) and at about 11:45, I was knocked out and didn't wake up till 12:30 Saturday. It was amazing. Just what I needed.

Saturday afternoon I went to the Orange and White game for football. My suitemate plays tight-end and actually got in some reps during the game. He had 2 catches too. It was pretty cool hearin' his name called out in the stadium. Saturday night some friends from back home came up and stayed with us and we all partied some. We hung out in my room, then headed over to Grand Forest, and then to Knoxville Place. It was a pretty crazy night and I didn't get to bed till close to 6, but that's what it's all about. Just havin' a good time and we definitely did.

My Sunday has consisted of pretty much nothing. I've been watching the Masters all day. It looks like Phil Mickelson's got it wrapped up. There's no one within four shots of him and he's playing ridiculously well. My pick, Tiger Woods, definitely didn't play up to par today. He had so many chances that he let get away, but oh well. He's already got four Masters, he can wait another year for his fifth. I was supposed to have an indoor soccer game tonight, but thats not happening because me and two other people are the only ones who can show up. Three people against six in indoor, not happenin'.

Well, no class Friday, I'm pretty hype about that. I'm not sure what I'll do for Easter. I'm sure most people will go home, but I'm not sure if I'm going to drive to Michigan again or not. We'll see what happens. I'm just ready for the short week. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

It's been a busy week/weekend for me. The first part of the weekend was good, just hung out with some friends, but they were definitely some late nights. We got pretty crazy. Sunday however, I had to wake up and drive to Michigan for a funeral on Monday. I wasn't too pumped to drive up there again seeing as I had just done it a week before, but there was never a doubt in my mind that I would go.

As far as the funeral goes, it was a little bit strange. The thing is: My uncle was atheist. His wife, my aunt, is also atheist. They are probably the only 2 people in my mom's side of the family that are not pretty hardcore Christian. My grandparents (my uncle's parents) wanted to have a Christian funeral service though. My aunt said that was fine, but it was just strange. Anybody that's ever been to a funeral knows what they consist of; lots of Bible verses, some hymns, and lots of prayer. It was just strange to me because the entire time I knew that my aunt didn't agree with anything that was being said. She's holding a Unitarian service down in Florida this Sunday which she told me on multiple occasions that will be "very different." That I don't doubt. I just don't know what it will be like. What do you do at a Unitarian service? Since generally funerals consist of prayer and such, I'm not really sure what a Unitarian funeral would have in it. I may end up going, but I'm not sure. If I go I would have to miss class again Monday so I'm not sure if I can afford that. It was a great service on Monday. The whole time I just wondered what my aunt was thinking about it seeing as that's not her beliefs. I'm pretty sure it was just for my grandparents benefit to somewhat comfort them. Anyway, I guess we'll see what happens this weekend. I may end up in Florida on Sunday.

I drove back yesterday. Usually I don't have a problem with the drive to Michigan. I've done it so many times, it's become fairly normal to me. I can do it in about 8 or 9 hours if there's no traffic. However, this time there was one difference. My truck is in the shop because some girl backed in to it and crunched the side so I have a rental car. It's a Toyota Corolla to be exact. I guess it's an O.K. car, but there was one thing that it didn't have that would have been nice. Cruise control. I didn't think it was a big deal, but it really does suck driving 550 miles without it. I'll be pretty glad to get my truck back today or tomorrow. I've got to get caught up in my classes too, I'm pretty behind now I think. Oh well, I'll get it done at some point.

The first week back from spring break.....not too bad. I've only had 1 class the last 2 days because all the others got cancelled so that was pretty cool. School work hasn't been too bad. It took me a while to figure out the annotated bibliography, but I think I finally got it.

Some friends and I decided to do intramural volleyball and softball. We'd already done basketball and football. I love playing intramurals, but the problem is if you lose one game, you're basically done. To get to the playoffs, you have to go undefeated. Somehow or another, we always blow our first game. We'll be ahead, and then out of nowhere, we just lose it. It happened in football and basketball. Of course, to think something else would happen in these other two would be ridiculous. We get up a game in volleyball and feel pretty good about ourselves, then naturally, we lose the next 2 to lose the match. Ok....we've still got softball. We play 3 scoreless innings and then we jump out to a 3-0 lead. Again, we're feeling pretty good about ourselves. Then the other team just decided to start playing or something because they laid 8 runs on us in one inning. All of a sudden they looked like real baseball players. Then the next 2 innings was full of them pulling crazy double plays and diving catches....This year was just not our year for intramurals. It's not that we suck either. I mean, we're all pretty athletic, most of us played sports in high school, but for whatever reason, we just didn't seem to do well this year. I guess there's always next year.

I've got a pretty long weekend coming up. Today and tomorrow should be alright. I'm sure some friends and I will get into the normal Friday night activities we usually do, but Sunday I have to drive to Michigan for a funeral on Monday. Then I have to drive back Monday night so I can make it to class on Tuesday. It's not going to be a good time. Nine hours one way, nine hours back. I need to go though. I'm just not looking forward to the drive since I just did it over spring break. Oh well, I've got to do it.

I'm pretty psyched this is my only class today. My other got cancelled so I'll probably go back to the room and go to bed. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Later

Spring break....it was a pretty good time, but now it's over so that really sucks. I'm not too excited about having to do this whole school thing again. Anyway, while most people went to the beach or on a cruise or to some Caribbean Island, I did pretty much the total opposite. I went to Michigan. It was cold.

It was a good time though. I hadn't seen my family since Christmas time so that was definitely nice. I went to the Pistons/Heat game on Wednesday night and sat 9 rows behind the bench. It was awesome. I don't even know how we got tickets down there since Pistons games have been sold out for like 2 years straight. I don't know, but it was pretty sweet. I took a bunch of pictures of course because I probably won't ever get seats that close ever again. The Pistons won thankfully so it was a great night.

I watched a few movies, and I went to a couple movies. I saw V for Vendetta which I didn't really like. The fight scenes were cool, but other than that, it didn't do much for me. A lot of people I've talked to liked it so I don't know, just not for me. I saw Inside Man with Denzel Washington. That was pretty good. I liked that one. I watched Derailed which was really good. It definitely keeps your attention the whole time. I watched History of Violence which was pretty good, not great, but pretty good. I also watched Waiting which pretty much convinces you to never send your food back at a restaurant. It was pretty funny though.

Saturday I went to a casino in Canada. I won like $300! No, no, no, I didn't. That would have been nice, but I actually lost money shockingly enough. It was cool though. You don't have to have a passport to get in Canada, but you have to have proof of U.S. citizenship. All we had was our licenses so we had to have our car searched and go through immigration which took a little while. That sucked. Now, one would think that it would be more difficult to get back into the U.S. Nope. Dead wrong. We pulled up to the border and the clerk asked how long we'd been in Canada, what we did, and if we bought anything. Then she sent us on our way. I couldn't believe it. I mean, it was nice not having to be detained for a while, but at the same time, it's that easy to get into the U.S. I sort of figured our security would be a little more extensive since the whole 9/11 thing, but apparently not at the Canadian borders. I can't imagine what it was before September 11....

Oh yeah, one bad thing....Last Saturday I sat down to watch the U.T. game with a friend, it had just started. Then some girl knocks on the door and said she backed into my car so that sucked. I had to deal insurance, police, and her for most of the game so I didn't even get to watch the game. Oh well, she's definitely paying for it so sucks for her.

Well, that's my break. I drove home yesterday. Nice little 9 hour drive. Hope everyone had a good break whatever you did. Later

Well it's spring break, thankfully. I'm definitely ready for the break as I'm sure everyone else is. I probably should have gone to class this morning seeing as how we got extra credit and all, but oh well, win some lose some I guess. Anyway, I'm headed to Michigan for the break. Hope everybody has a good one, later.

I've definitely slacked the past few weeks on posting entries on here so I'm going to try and get back on track, but anyway, it was a pretty good weekend for me.

A friend of mine had a couple friends from his home town come up to UT this weekend and hang out with us. I'd already met one of them and he's actually going to go to school here next year. He goes to Bethal right now and plays basketball, but he's pretty cool. We all just sort of hung out in their room and chilled. Not too exciting, but it was a good time. Nothin' to stressful. It was good to just relax.

Saturday I didn't get up 'till close to 1 probably. I watched a lot of basketball, did my laundry, and went to guitar center to get my guitar fixed. Saturday night some friends and I got some Crown Royal and had some of that. Naturally Gus's followed which seems to be a weekend ritual anymore. It was cool though because I ended up seeing a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time. There were a couple girls there that I went to high school with and another one I went to middle school with who is actually a country singer now. She's gonna be on the Today Show here in a few weeks. It's pretty crazy. She's really good though. So it was cool hangin' out with her. I didn't end up gettin' to bed until about 4 30 which sucked, but it's alright, it was a fun night.

Today, well, today was pretty much like every other sunday of the past few weeks. I wake up late, watched basketball, then watched the
NASCAR race which was a good one. The exception to the Sunday routine was watching Bracketology. If anyone missed it....Tennessee got a #2 seed. Yes, I know....unbelievable. A 2 seed????? I definitely didn't see that one coming. I thought surely we'd be a 5 or a 6 the way we finished our season losing four of our last six. Oh well, hopefully we can get somethin' goin. How cool would it be for us to meet UNC in the sweet sixteen. They're pretty good so I'm not sure how well we'd do, but it would still be a sweet game to watch. I had an indoor soccer game tonight over in Lenoir City. We lost 12-11 which sucks, but it was still pretty fun. We had to play a man down for the first half because some of our players forgot we had a game, but oh well.

Well...I guess that's about all I've got and I'm sure it's pretty boring so that's it for now. Later

I don't know about anybody else noticed, but last night was the second time in as many games that we have blown a 13 point lead and ended up losing. We did it against Arkansas and now Kentucky. Come on! I mean, I know that we're still 20-6 which is still awesome, but those are two games that we should have won. And who knows what will happen against Vanderbilt. They're no slouch and it's at Vandy which has me pretty concerned.

Me and my friends got to the game at like 4:15 yesterday. That's pretty early. It sure would have been worth it had we pulled out a victory, but no, we blew it. It was pretty cool seeing John Ward and Ray Mears banners hung. Plus the seniors presentation was awesome. I'm not gonna lie, I got chills. It would have been a perfect ending for Watson had he hit the last second bucket to win the game. Oh well, hopefully we can do well in the SEC tournament and then the NCAA tournament.

It's been a while since I've posted to here, but there really hasn't been much going on. All I've done is pretty much go to class, homework, sleep, workout, and then just relax. The weather's been pretty sweet the last couple of days being nice and warm. I'm a big fan of that. I was definitely tired of the cold weather. It wouldn't surprise me though to see it drop down 40 degrees tonight or something.

Alright, well, that's all I've got for now. Later.

What's up everybody. With the All-Star stuff and the Daytona 500 going on, it was a pretty good weekend. Friday night me and a few friends went to a party for a little bit then went down to Gus's to eat. I've probably said this before, but damn, that place is expensive. It's good, but expensive. Saturday I watched our Vols get trounced by Bama who shot 76% in the first half. How are we supposed to compete with that? Nobody ever shoots that well in a half. Unfortunately for us, Alabama managed to do just that. We played pretty evenly in the 2nd half, but after being down by 17 or so at half, it's kind of hard to come back. Hopefully we can beat Florida this week though.

The All-Star stuff was cool. The dunk contest was one of the best I've seen in a while. I was pretty skeptical since none of the guys in it were very prominent players, but it definitely turned out well. Andre Igoudala and Nate Robinson put on a show and I would have been happy with either of them winning. The All-Star game was good. The East pulled it out with some defensive help from the four Detroit Piston players of course. They're winnin' it all this year by the way.

The best part of the weekend though was the Daytona 500. I generally don't sit down and watch entire races, but I watched the entire race Sunday, and it was great. I have to say though: Tony Stewart is a prick. He caused at least three wrecks and should have been black flagged, but of course he managed to finish 5th. I'm not a big fan of Tony, but he is a damn good driver. There were a couple times where he should have spun out and lost it, but he saved himself........unfortunately. Jimmie Johnson won which is good. I was hoping for a better showing from Carl Edwards, but he wrecked about halfway through the race. Oh well. All I know is I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Well, that's it for now. Later.

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted a personal blog so I figured it's about time. This week has gone by pretty fast. I'm glad. I'm always ready for the weekend. It was a pretty uneventful week for me. I got back a couple tests I took. One went well, and the other one, well it didn't go quite as planned. Oh well, it happens. That's part of college I guess. How bout them Vols pullin' another 'W' out on Wednesday night. I can't believe it. 19-3? Think about it. 19-3? If anybody said at the start of this season that we'd be 19-3 with three or four games left in the regular season, then they are full of it. I was hopeful to get into the NIT tournament this year, and maybe not lose first round to George Mason like we did last year or the year before. I can't remember which it was, but I definitely didn't see us being #1 in the SEC and a possible 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. That's crazy. It's awesome, but crazy. I've been watching the Nissan Open the past couple days. A lot of people hate watching golf on television because they say it's boring, but I enjoy it. I'm pretty pumped about this weekend. UT plays Bama at Bama, and that will be a really good game. Then Sunday NASCAR kicks off at the Daytona 500. It should be pretty sweet. I don't know a whole lot about racing, but the past couple years I've started to get more and more into it. I'm hopin' to be able to go to the race at Bristol this year. I don't know if that will happen though. All right, well, I'm just rambling so I'm out of here. Later.

So I've come to realize over the past few days how much I really just want summer to be here. It's not that I don't like UT, I love it. It's not even that classes are really hard this semester because they aren't. I just really want it to be summer time. I dread going to classes anymore. I'm not sure what it is, but the sooner May gets here, the happier I'll be. Until then, well, I suppose there's nothing I can really do about it. Oh well.

Anyway, a few things about my week so far. Fairly uneventful I'd say. I went to the UT game Wednesday night against Vanderbilt. It was another great game. Our men's team really is fun to watch. The games are very exciting. Major Wingate had a pretty good night with 10 points and 11 rebounds I think. It's crazy because I'm sorry to say, he's got probably the worst hands ever. It seems like every time someone passes him the ball, he drops it. It's very frustrating, but he had a great night on Wednesday. It's a good thing too because Chris Lofton, who had put up 20+ points the last four games, had only 5 the entire night. Oh well, good team work I suppose. Everybody stepped up thankfully. Another check in the win column for us.

Tonight I went to this thing called The Walk. It's at a friend of mine's church. It's sort of like a miniature church service. Lots of music, a short talk or sermon, another song, and prayer and then we go. It's just a good time. It's relaxing and a good time to get in the Word a little bit. Speaking of Chris Lofton, he and Jordan Howell, another UT basketball player, actually sat at the table with me and a couple of my friends. It was pretty cool.

Something else that I've been struggling with is procrastination. It's ridiculous. For example, reading mentally incontinent has been the biggest challenge for me. I don't know what it is. Miss Devon assigns almost no homework except a little reading, but do I do it? Nope. Why? Because I'm lazy I guess. It kind of sucks. I won't lie. The odds of me having the 109 pages of the book read by 9:00 tomorrow morning are slim to none. I'm going to try, but I really don't see it happening. I don't know. Maybe I'll surprise myself.

Well, I'm rambling on and I'm sure it's nothing anyone really wants to read so that's it for now. Later.
